Tour Itinerary

Day 1:	Lilongwe – South Luangwa On arrival at ‘Lilongwe airport’ we will meet you and drive you to the Luangwa Valley in Zambia, with lunch on route. At your destination a welcome drink is waiting for you. A team member will escort you to your chalet and leave you some time to explore your new surroundings. Enjoy your first famous sun downer followed by a 3-course dinner under the stars. Relax at our Lime tree bar before retiring for the evening.

Day 2:	South Luangwa – game activities: game drive safari The refreshing chill of a Valley sunrise combined with a light breakfast, followed by the rush of an early game drive in an open game vehicle, accompanied by one of our experienced guides watching the bush awake. Small bites and drinks are served during game drives and walks. Soak up the beauty of the National Park and its wildlife before returning to camp for brunch. An afternoon to chill or have a swim in our elevated pool with river view Track & Trail River Camp is proud to be the site with the most idyllic pool in the Valley. Followed by afternoon tea before departure for the night drive, an exciting experience to view the nocturnal activity of the park. On your return from this nocturnal journey through the National Park a culinary journey will be waiting for you in our special dining area.

Day 3:	South Luangwa – game activities: combi of walking safari and driving As the sun cuts through we will serve you a small energizer for your morning walk, an unique experience to discover the park from a different angle. At your return to camp brunch will be waiting. In the afternoon you will have some time to lounge on your balcony or enjoy a bird’s eye view of our lagoon from our tree hide, followed by an afternoon/night drive. At night we will pamper you with a 3-course dinner.

Day 4:	South Luangwa – leisure & culture- (alternatives possible on request) Today you can sleep in a little….a leisurely start followed by breakfast. Late morning/early afternoon our guides will take you for a visit to an authentic traditional village to learn about the culture and daily life of the friendly local people. Coming back our Zambian chef will tell you about & let you taste traditional appetizers and prepare a traditional meal on the fire….followed by dessert. Seated around the fire you can have a drink and swap adventure stories or just listen to the sounds of the bush.

Day 5:	South Luangwa – game activities – game drive safari Today we take you out early again, a morning drive to add new species to your list of spotted game. Back at camp a well deserved brunch will be waiting for you followed by a little bit of relaxing. A stop by our Lime tree bar for an afternoon snack before taking off on your last night drive. In the mean time our chef will prepare highlights of his choice for your last dinner with us.

Day 6:	South Luangwa – Senga Bay, Lake Malawi After breakfast depart for Senga Bay at Lake Malawi with a stop at Tribal Textile Workshop to see the beautiful fabrics made by local craftsmen and artists. …. Once in Malawi, Senga Bay is only one and half hour driving from the capital Lilongwe. Arrival at Safari Beach Lodge where you will spend the next 3 days on an all-inclusive basis.

Day 7-9:	Lake Malawi At the Southern Shore of Lake Malawi, Safari Beach Lodge awaits, a relaxing and idyllic setting at the lake with its own private ‘beach’. Days are spent either relaxing on the beach or try one of various activities including hiking the Senga Bay HIlls, visiting a local fisherman’s village, birding, beach volley ball and unlimited water sports: fishing, canoeing and kayaking and fresh water snorkelling to discover the Lake’s unforgettable fish world with at least 500 species, some colourful as rainbows. Snorkelling is really superb! The lodge is the only one around so just relax and enjoy: …..relax on our private beach over viewing the Lake of Stars raising a glass off wine on a splendid holiday.

Day 10:	Lake Malawi-Lilongwe After breakfast we depart from the Lake to Lilongwe were we say goodbye. From Lilongwe you can connect to your international flight.

Lake Malawi – Safari Beach Lodge
Malawi, "The Warm Heart of Africa", lies at the south eastern end of the Great Rift Valley. The 585 km long Lake Malawi covers more than 15% of the country. Enclosed by hills and mountains and edged by palm-fringed sandy beaches it is the most beautiful of Africa´s great lakes. The clear waters of the lake are home to more than 500 species of fish.

Safari Beach Lodge
Safari Beach Lodge is situated in a secluded forest reserve directly on the shore of the lake and has its own private beach and viewing deck with stunning view over Leopard Bay.

You can choose to stay in one of our 6 beautiful gazebos (chalets build from natural materials), all with big verandas overlooking the lake from above. You can also stay in one of our 4 comfortable double hotelrooms in the main lodge set in our beautiful garden. Each of the gazebos, tents and hotelrooms has its own private bathroom, electricity and hot water. In the hotelrooms you can also enjoy air-conditioning .

South Luangwa National Park – Track & Trail River Camp
The South Luangwa National Park, one of Africa´s last untouched wilderness areas, hosts over 40 kinds of mammals including Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Wild dogs, Thornicroft giraffe, Zebra, Elephant and Hippo and 400 bird species. The park has been described as the premier park in Africa foremost for the variety of species seen when visiting. One of Luangwa´s highlights is a night drive through the park looking for nocturnal animals.

The spacious chalets are located at a beautiful spot on the Luangwa River, from your private balcony you can enjoy the magnificent view of the river with its hippos and crocodiles…the elevated swimming pool with sun deck does not only bring necessary refreshments but also lets you enjoy watching the river and its inhabitants. All game drives are undertaken in specially modified 4x4 open safari vehicles by qualified guides with extensive knowledge of the area, for game walks accompanied by an armed scout.
