Tour Itinerary

Day 1:

Lusaka- Kafue NP
On arrival at Lusaka airport a driver will meet you and drive you to Kafue NP. This trip will take about 2,5 hours till you reach the National Park. For the next 3 nights you will stay at Kaingu, an isolated and tastefully designed lodge, superb cuisine and personalised service. You will stay in pure safari style, exclusive tents on the bank of the Kafue river. Depending on the time of arrival in camp and your personal desires, you can see if a evening safari can be organised for you.

 
Day 2 - 4:

Kafue National Park, Kaingu tented camp
The traditional tented camp safari is by far the best way to explore Zambia’s wildlife. Kaingu’s luxury tented camp is located within the park in a beautiful setting with sights and sounds of nature close by. Activities at the lodge: - game drives – nature walks – river safari’s- fishing trips - Most important everything at your own pace… You can ask the manager your preferences with regard to the daily activities. All activities take place according to a ‘fixed time schedule’.

 
Day 5 - 8:

Kafue National Park, Mukambi lodge
On the fifth day a driver will take you to another part of this enormous large wildlife area, with a different vegetation an different species. This open area is good habitat for the fastest mammal on earth, the cheetah. You will stay at Mukambi lodge in luxury and fully furnished chalets with ensuite bathroom. From the veranda you will be able to take in the beauty of the Kafue River and watch the wild animals around you. There are no fences in Zambia’s Parks, allowing you to relax into the rhythm of nature. All activities take place according to a ‘fixed time schedule’. You can ask the manager your preferences with regard to the daily activities.

 
Day 9-13:

Lusaka to South Luangwa National Park
After some enjoyable days in the bush of one of the largest parks in Africa, it is time for your next adventure. You will be driven to Lusaka airport to catch your flight to Mfuwe. Tickets will be ready for collection at one off the offices in the main terminal. (details will follow after booking) After a short flight of one hour you will arrive at the airport of Mfuwe where a driver will pick you up. It will take up to 40 minutes to arrive at Track and Trail River Camp, where somebody will welcome you with a refreshing drink. Your accommodation at this camp can either be a classis luxury safari tent or a chalet, both with ensuite bathroom. Elephants and hippo’s are daily visitors of Track and Trail, so you will also experience the real Africa in South Luangwa. This park is famous for its high population of leopards. The guides of South Luangwa are extremely bush wise and will do the utmost to please your personal interests. Track and Trail has a beautifully designed pool of 2,5 meter high on the riverbank. Nice to cool down and get a suntan around midday. You can join activities like: Game(night)-drives, bush walks, village tour to meet the locals. The manager is a qualified aroma-therapist who can spoil body and soul in bush style.

 
Day 14:

You are most likely full off impressions about what you have seen, heard, felt and learned the last two weeks in the bush. Zambian guides are one of the most skilled in Southern Africa and love to share their knowledge with people who are interested in nature. But it is time to say goodbye to the bush and travel to a different country with a different culture..’the warm heart of Africa”

After breakfast you will drive to Chipata, onto the border with Malawi, Lilongwe and finally Senga Bay. Along the way we will make a stop for traditional souvenirs and to have lunch. This trip by car will take more or less 7 hours. Your next destination will be Safari Beach Lodge at Lake Malawi, where you will stay for the next three days on all inclusive basis.

 
Day 14-17:

Safari Beach Lodge in Malawi is located in the secluded and beautiful Senga Bay Forest, near Salima and situated directly on the shore of the Lake with a private beach. From there you have a stunning view over Leopards Bay with spectacular sunsets. If you have enough of relaxing on the beach, Safari Beach Lodge can offer you some nice activities:
-snorkeling – canoeing – walking – boat safari – village visit – birding - Malawians are well known for their friendliness and not shy for the camera. (always ask them first). You will stay in one of the Gazebo’s (chalet build from natural materials), all with a veranda overlooking the lake from above,. The lodge is the only one around so just relax and enjoy the ride…

 
Day 18:

Lake Malawi
At the Southern Shore of Lake Malawi, Safari Beach Lodge awaits, a relaxing and idyllic setting at the lake with its own private ‘beach’. Days are spent either relaxing on the beach or try one of various activities including hiking the Senga Bay HIlls, visiting a local fisherman’s village, birding, beach volley ball and unlimited water sports: fishing, canoeing and kayaking and fresh water snorkelling to discover the Lake’s unforgettable fish world with at least 500 species, some colourful as rainbows. Snorkelling is really superb!

The lodge is the only one around so just relax and enjoy:

Lake Malawi – Safari Beach Lodge

South Luangwa National Park – Track & Trail River Camp
The South Luangwa National Park, one of Africa´s last untouched wilderness areas, hosts over 40 kinds of mammals including Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Wild dogs, Thornicroft giraffe, Zebra, Elephant and Hippo and 400 bird species. The park has been described as the premier park in Africa foremost for the variety of species seen when visiting. One of Luangwa´s highlights is a night drive through the park looking for nocturnal animals.

KAFUE NATIONAL PARK, ZAMBIA
Kafue National Park is one of the largest game reserves in the world and is Zambia's oldest Park. On safari at Kafue expect to see plenty of antelope including important populations of Defassa waterbuck and Red lechwe, which was on the brink of extinction 50 years ago. Bird watching is exceptional, with over 400 species common to the area.

Mukambi lodge overlooks the majestic Kafue River. At the lodge you will be able to enjoy Africa to the maximum. Not only by relaxing on one of the decks but also in the pool overlooking Kafue River or just strolling along Kafue River, spotting wildlife near the lodge. Meals will satisfy everyone's palate.

Accommodation is designed to give you the privacy you need in order to enjoy the African bush. Chalets are situated on the river and from your veranda you can relax and take in the beauty of Africa's nature. If you choose one of the safari tents with thatched roof, the bush experience will become even more realistic. In the luxury of your furnished tent right at the riverside, you will hear the sounds of the African night. Among them is the lion's roar and the hyena's whoop.

Kaingu Lodge is situated on the Kafue River, 200 kilometres upstream of its confluence with the mighty Zambezi River and 400 kilometres north of the majestic Victoria Falls. The Lodge is environmentally friendly with the architecture of the entire camp and associated buildings having been designed to blend in and harmonise with the surroundings. Maximum use has been made of existing trees, rocky outcrops and topographical features in its layout and construction, thereby keeping impacts to a minimum and maintaining the original look and feel of the area.
