Day 1 Wilddogs lodge, Lusaka
Pick up from Lusaka airport. Your driver from Wilddogs lodge will be waiting for you at the airport and take you to Wilddogs lodge only a 20 minutes’ drive away. With all the facilities needed this lodge is the ideal place to start your Zambian safari experience.
The 4 traditionally thatched chalets are comfortable and cozy and surrounded by a lush garden. After your long journey you can have a lovely 3-course dinner and relaxing night at the lodge.
Day 2-3-4-5-6 Mukambi lodge and Busanga plains camp, Kafue National Park, Zambia
Early morning’s after breakfast you will be collected for a road transfer to Mukambi Safari lodge in Kafue National Park.
The Kafue National Park is 22 500 sq km, one of the largest National Parks in Africa. The Kafue River winds through the park entering in the north-eastern corner and is joined by the Lufupa and the Lunga rivers which are the three main veins that bring life into the Kafue National Park.
Mukambi lodge, where you spend your first night, is centrally located in the Kafue National Park, a comfortable 3-hour drive from Lusaka the capital of Zambia. Accommodation options are stylish designed chalets or luxury tents with king size bed and en-suite bathroom. All facilities are overlooking the Kafue River.
The next day you will have an extended game drive to the Busanga plains in the extreme north of the Kafue .The Busanga Plains is one of Zambia’s most significant wetland areas and one of the few areas in the world that remain untouched by development and human activity. The plains are home to numerous pukus, roan and and other antelopes that attract many predators, including wilddogs, cheetahs and prides of lions.
The Busanga Plains Camp is a seasonal camp deep in the heart of the plains. The camp offers 4 spacious and airy ensuite tents with private deck. In between your activities, you can take a dip in the plunge pool or sunbath on the wooden deck overlooking the impressive plains.
You will spend 3 nights at the plains, returning for your last night in Kafue to Mukambi lodge.
Day 7-8-9—10 Track and Trail River Camp, South Luangwa, Zambia
The driver from Mukambi will take you back to Lusaka airport where you will connect with Proflight to your next destination. At Mfuwe airport your driver will be waiting for you for a transfer to Track and Trail River Camp, a 35 minutes away.
Track and Trail River Camp is a privately owned camp offering unforgettable sunrises and panoramic views of the Luangwa River in an area of unspoiled wilderness.
Situated only a five minutes drive from the main entrance of the South Luangwa National Park, the camp offers a unique natural experience. Accommodation and facilities are close to the Luangwa river and wildlife viewing starts right from your doorstep.
Select from daily game viewing options in open safari vehicles, this park is known for incredible safari experiences. A village tour or a visit to our Katemo school sponsor project can be organized on request.
South Luangwa is a place where you will create everlasting memories.
Day 11
Your driver will take you back to Mfuwe airport were your trip ends. Here you can connect to your outgoing flight.
